I never used a SATA hard drive before so I have a few questions; I'm going to be using the sata drive, as my master/ operation system drive also will be partitioning it since its 300gigs. Can I also run ide hard drives at the same time (as slaves) as well with ide cd-rom drive? Do I hook my ide drives up as normal

How to partition a HD?
Good quesion. I had an identical problem. Everything worked, UNTIL I RAN MEMMAKER. I tried using the minimum configuration detailed in the WFW manual. Still, everything worked fine until I ran memmaker. I even reformatted the hard drive and just installed DOS, Windows, and my EIDE Driver.

I got an anwer to the second quesion, but not to this question. I know there's data on this partition, but I can't get to it because no drive letter has been assigned to it. When I open up Computer Management I can see the partition there and it says it's a Healthy Unknown NTFS partition. But why can'tI get to it.

At those sizes, the drive SHOULD be partitioned. Otherwise, performance of the system will be severely degraded simply by the time required to search what will become a huge directory to simply find files that need to be opened. Final Drive quesion
Nothing in fstab is a dumb question as there are a lot of options available that take a lot of trial and error to see what works and you could drive yourself silly playing with them. The disadvantage to that is that you'll find that the /windows/D will be owned by root, and it'll be hard to work with.
